Relaxing Birthday

This poor little froggy hasn't been let out of the stamp case to play in quite some time...I think maybe I was longing for a nice relaxing float in the pool. It will be quite some time before I can do that here, but it was fun to color and paper piece this image just the same.

I used the tiny polka dot print from the Woodland Walk papers to paper piece the lilly pad, but the other two prints are from the Brights Print pack in Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight. The scalloped birthday sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set Punch Bunch. I watercolored the froggie using my Aqua painter and Classic Inks.

Stamps: Frolicking Frogs, Punch Bunch
Card stock: Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight & Whisper White
Ink: Black Stazon, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise  & various other Classic Inks for watercoloring
Accessories: Certainly Celery Grosgrain, Linen Thread, Scalloped Square and Word Window Punches

Have a relaxing day!

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

I'm looking out my window this morning at a winter wonderland. It sure looks beautiful! Right now some of the biggest snowflakes I've ever seen are coming down...so slowly...so peaceful. However, I'm content to be inside where it's nice and warm! I think maybe I was longing for Spring when I created this birthday card for my Mom. I also think maybe I was trying to see just how many embellishments I could add to one card and still get it to fit inside an envelope! In other words, I think I got carried away...

I gave myself a little color challenge as I was creating this card for my Mom. It seems when I make her a card I tend to use the same colors...purples or golden yellow shades...or sometimes both. Also, I don't think I've ever colored this image from Elements of Style using shades of blue, so I chose Marina MistCertainly Celery and Crumb Cake as my color scheme. I watercolored the image using Classic Inks & my Aqua Painter. Then I used the Linen background stamp (retired) inked in Crumb Cake over the top of the design.

Stamps: Elements of Style, Linen & Watercolor Trio
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla and Vellum
Ink: Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist & various other Classic Inks for watercoloring
Accessories: Beautiful Butterflies & Scalloped Square Bigz Dies, Large & Scalloped Oval Punches, Victoria Crochet Trim, Basic Pearls & Antique Brads
My Mom loved the card, and I hope you do as well! Have a wonderful weekend!

Sale~A~Bration Inspiration

I'm sure that most of you fellow stampers are excited that Stampin' Up!s annual Sale-A-Bration has begun! I know I am! I told you about the awesome card swaps I received recently from the QC Swapper group I belong to, and I already shared the Occasions Mini cards. Today I want to share the SAB swaps.

These first two use the So Happy For You set and the Ice Cream Parlor papers. Don't you love the treat holder created using the Petal Cone die for the Big Shot? (and silly me didn't think I needed that die!;-) The card also uses one of the adorable flower buttons from the Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon & Button pack.

These next two pretty cards use the Sweet Summer set (left) and the Bliss set (right).
This next group of cards shows how versatile the Punch Bunch set can be. I love any set that can be used with our punches, and this one is no exception!

More Punch Bunch cards....
Just like the Occasions swap, I also picked the most popular set to use. Here are my Punch Bunch/Ice Cream Parlor swap cards.
I hope you have found these cards to be as inspiring as I have! If you would like to see these ideas...& more in person, contact me today to book your Sale~A~Bration event!

Occasions Card Swap

I participated in a couple card swaps and just received a great group of cards from both the Occasions Mini and the Sale-A-Bration catalogs. So today I'm going to share the Occasions Mini Swaps with you. These are all created by the talented women in the QC Swappers group...enjoy!

These two bright and cheery cards use the Bold Blossom set.

These 3 beauties use the set Nature Walk.
Lots of new goodies used on these next few cards...The top left card uses the Thanks for caring set along with Springtime Vintage papers, and the Framed Tulips Embossing folder. The cute scalloped square card shows off the new Sweet Stitches papers and the adorable Pompom Trim. The Love card on the bottom used the Lots of Love Letterpress Plate.

I think lots of us loved the Build a Cupcake punch and the Create a Cupcake stamp set, because lots of the swaps focused on these new products...including mine.
Here's my swap card...

I hope you enjoyed looking at all these cards as much as I enjoyed receiving them! Next time I'll share the SAB swap cards.

Triple Decker Ice Cream Cone

Cupcakes aren't the only things with a cherry on top! Here is another cute way to use the new Build a Cupcake Punch...use it to build an ice cream cone.

I didn't think of this cute ice cream cone idea myself, I was inspired by this cute card made by Allison on SCS. I used the patterned papers from the Brights Patterns Collection of DSP in Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Tangerine Tango. The cone shape was cut from Crumb Cake card stock and embossed using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. The scalloped Happy Birthday greeting is from the new SAB set Punch Bunch.

I embellished my card with Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon and an adorable little flower button from Brights Designer Buttons pack. These colors are so fun and cheerful and they really perk me up on a dreary winters day. Hope you like it too!
